Stanley saw Spencer and Veronica at karate. They are black belts. Stanley went to gymnastics. Veronica was good at cartwheels. Stanley had a good time at the library. Stanley also made some eggs. Stanley had fun before he came back with me.
Stanley visited Los Angeles. There are about 4 million people that live there. He visited the tar pits. The tar pits had 10,000-40,000 year old bones in it. Stanley likes mammoths a lot. Stanley likes the Los Angeles views he saw at Grffith Observatory and Park. Stanley loved visiting the aquarium a lot. Stanley was surprised by the LED lights on the ferris wheel. It had 160,000 lights on it. Stanley was very sad that Nickelodeon Studios was closed. He was scared of the "witches House" in Beverly Hills. He hid. He learned a lot in Beverly Hills and Los Angeles.
Stanley saw a giant naval ship. They went to the Rock and RollHall of Fame and it had cars, clothing, etc of famous rock and roll artists. Flat Stanley went to the West Side Market. The West Side Market is the oldest indoor/outdoor market in Cleveland. Stanley got to go to the Cleveland Fire Memorial. The memorial was dedicated to the 76 firefighters lost during service since 1863. Stanley had lots of fun in Ohio with my cousins!
Nikita's Stacie went to Alaska. Some of Alaska's state animals are: the bowhead whale, the moose, the willow ptarmigan, and the king salmon. The state mineral is gold. The state gem is called jade. Bear eat salmon from the water. The state sport is dog mushing. Stacie stayed on a military base. She saw lots of airforce jets and moose. She had a great time with Ryan and Justin.
We learned that there are palm trees in Florida. There are lakes in Florida. Flat Stanley saw turtles, sharks, alligators, and a turtle skull (he went inside its jaw). Florida is near the ocean. Oceans are salt water not fresh water. Stanley came back with a lot of pictures!
When Jacob's Stanley returned we learned there was a rumor about treasure behind the house where he stayed. There was a lake near where Stanley stayed. Stanley visited an aquarium in Connecticut called Mystic aquarium. Stanley had fun.
Our class began a Flat Stanley project several months ago. We wrote letters, gathered addresses, created "Flats" and finally mailed our first round of Flats two weeks ago.
