To wrap up our Veterans Day work, I asked to students to write a reflection about the Veterans Day projects and presentations. You can find these reflections at our KidBlog site. I was very impressed with the things the students had to say about this project. Please take a look at the reflections and feel free to comment with your own thoughts.
The "Photo Gallery" page has begun to be populated with pictures. Our first pictures are the pumpkin investigation we did last week. Coming soon - we will have pictures of our reading buddy time. Please feel free to take a look!!
The fourth grade students will be performing at this Friday's "All Join In." The performance will focus on honoring veterans in observance of Veterans Day. We are extremely excited about this performance as we have many wonderful things planned.
The program will begin with a play by Mrs. Phelps' students introducing what Veterans Day is. Then there will be a presentation of a selection of short videos created by our classroom based on Veterans Day research the children conducted over the past week. After that, Mrs. Phelps' class will perform a poem, followed by another set of videos. Finally the whole school, assisted by Ms. Green and some "guest" conductors, will perform a song to honor the veterans. We will be joined remotely by veterans at the Veterans Home in Bennington (and perhaps a few other location around the state). This performance will be recorded and will be viewable on our school website.
All of the students have been working very hard and I know this will be a wonderful program!!
