I hope you have all had a wonderful summer. While I have greatly enjoyed my summer, I am eager to begin another exciting year. I have been very busy working on getting our classroom ready for the new school year. Mrs. Maguire-Jones and I have been thinking a lot about the things we will be learning this year and the fun learning projects we will be completing as we learn these things.
A couple of important reminders:
1. Don't forget to complete your reading and math challenges to be eligible for our fall parties. Several students have already posted on the reading blog. I have enjoyed reading these post. It has also been wonderful to see that students are reading each other's posts and commenting on those. If you would like to make a blog post and have forgotten the log-in information, please email me (email@example.com) and I will get the information you need to you. Just a reminder - if you are unable to write about your reading on the blog, you can simply write a summary of a book you read on paper and bring it in at the beginning of the year.
2. Mrs. Maguire Jones and I would also like to remind you that all 4th grade students and their families are invited to a meet and greet potluck picnic on Monday, August 22 from 5:30-7:00. We will be gathering on the playground by the pavilion. Please bring your favorite side dish or dessert to share. We will be providing a meat platter and rolls for sandwiches. We will also provide water. We look forward to having the opportunity to meet both students and families in this informal setting.
We are looking forward to a wonderful year! Enjoy the rest of the summer. We will see you soon.
