The students will simply gain sponsors for their reading, log in reading minutes through Learn2Earn (which we already do - although the fundraising log-in will be different), and we will be adding money to our classroom field trip fund. All logged reading minutes will continue to be logged in AT SCHOOL once the teacher has verified the minutes on the homework reading log (parents must sign to acknowledge that children have read at home). We will also continue to log minutes read during read to self time in class.
Tomorrow. we will be sending home information that will tell you about the program and provide you information for parent and student log-in into the Learn2Earn site. Sponsors can make donations on-line directly through the Learn2Earn site (but must be invited through email). However, there will also be a donations form sent home for family or friends who wish to donate but do not wish to do so on-line. You can collect cash/check donations using the donation form (very similar to the form we used for the December Read-a-Thon) and send them to school.
As well as earning money to support or field trip fund, each student can also earn prizes based on his/her reading. Students can earn:
1 bookmark for each book that is read
1 pencil for obtaining 5 sponsors
AND the Top 10 Readers will earn a cool book bag.
FINALLY the Top Reading Class will get to have an ice cream party!

Thank you in advance for your support with this endeavor! I think it is going to be a fun and productive way to earn funds for the fourth grade classrooms.
