I forgot that there is no school next Friday when I chose the due date for the book project. SO, the students luck out and there is an EXTENSION to the due date for this project. Book projects will be DUE WEDNESDAY, MAY 20th.
If there are any questions regarding the project, please let me know as soon as possible.
NECAP Science Testing:
The student will be taking the Fourth Grade NECAP Science test next Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday. The testing will taking place in the afternoon.
What are we doing?
We are beginning Chapter 6 in Math today. This will be the beginning of our learning about fractions.
In literacy and science we are continuing our Meteorology unit. We have learned about clouds and atmosphere. We are now beginning to discuss wind and how it impacts weather.
We are continuing to read Frozen Summer as a whole class. Along with the reading we are practicing inferencing skills as well as supporting answer to questions with SPECIFIC DETAILS from the text.
As the weather improves, behavior tends tend struggle. It is harder for students to focus on working inside when the weather is so beautiful outside. I am also noticing some struggles to get homework in as students would rather be doing other things. I certainly can empathize with their feelings! However, it is still two months before vacation and we have A LOT of learning left to do. Please help encourage your child to continue to do his/her best - as I will also continue to encourage them here at school!
