In Math we are continuing to work on memorization of our multiplication and division facts. As I said last week, this will go a LONG way in helping to make it easier to learn the many new math concepts we will tackle this year. This past week we began putting multiplication information into our interactive math notebooks. We have also learned several new games. Please continue to encourage your child to practice these facts at home as much as possible.
Over the next few days students will need to decide if they wish to run for student council. If your child wishes to run, he/she should write a speech (that he/she will read to the class) by Tuesday. Parents may support their child in writing the speech. We will vote for our student council representatives on Wednesday morning.
Today we discussed the characteristics of a good student council member. The characteristics we came up with were:
Can speak in public
Kind and generous
Good team member
