1 WEEK LEFT!! Let’s make that final push to try and bring in as many funds as we can for our Spring Fieldtrip! Mrs. Maguire-Jones has begun working on the plans for our spring trip. We are hoping to go to Billings Farm in Woodstock, Vermont (and possibly VINS as well while we are in the area) on May 13th. The more funds we are able to raise now the better! So far the students have read a total of 8, 547 minutes and 6 students have raised a total of $340 in our Reading Raiser. If each of the remaining 29 4th graders raise just $10 in the next week we can almost double our funds. Let’s make a big push to raise that thermometer!!
What we are doing...
We are finished with our unit on multi-digit multiplication although many of the students still need to continue practicing this skill. There are many steps and it is easy to make careless mistakes or skip a part of the process. We will continue to practice this skill as we work to mastery. This week we are beginning division. We will be practicing several division strategies, including long division of 4 digit numbers divided by 1 digit numbers.
We are finishing up our Vermont research projects and are looking at March 2nd as a tentative date for our parent night. We are very excited to share our work!
It has been a pretty mild week, but we are looking at colder weather coming back into the forecast next week. Please be sure your child has a coat EVERYDAY (gloves, hats, etc would be great as well - but at least a coat!!)! They are outside for 30 minutes EVERY DAY possible. Students will not be allowed outside with just a sweatshirt for outerwear.
